The payroll training is intended for a beginner using Sage payroll for the first time or as a refresher course. The course is made up of two half day sessions and is designed to give the delegate a basic understanding of how to use Sage payroll. Session 1 – Getting Started

Setting up your company, entering employee details, pay elements, deductions, holidays and pension schemes.

Session 2 – Processing Payroll

Recording absences, paying people, reports, online submissions, P45s, processing year-end, RTI and using the Help module.

How to set up customer accounts, raising sales invoices or posting batch sales invoices and a brief overview of Sage and recap

Session 3 – Banking Module
Posting supplier payments, posting customer receipts, posting bank, credit card and petty cash payments and receipts and a further brief overview of Sage and recap

Session 4 – Nominal Ledger
Understanding nominal codes and where they belong in a Chart of Accounts, Director and staff expenses, understanding VAT codes, short cuts and a brief overview of Sage and recap

Session 5 – Personalising Bank Accounts & Bank Reconciliation*
Setting up bank accounts, bank reconciliation, petty cash account reconciliation

Session 6 – Month end Reports & VAT Returns
Identifying which Month end reports to produce, processing VAT returns, how to check the information and then filing online direct from Sage
